10 Excuses withholding people from Making Money Online

There are many people who dream of becoming their own boss and achieving financial freedom. These days it is easy to start a business with all the on-line opportunities out there, but still not many people dare to take the step of starting an on-line business. There minds are full of doubt and excuses that prevent them from taking these first steps.

Below you will find the top 10 excuses people make. Are you one of these people?

Excuse 1. I am not smart enough to start or run an on-line business.

Yes, you hear this all the time. Another one is; I don’t have the qualification or skills to start an on-line business.

Perhaps running an online business is not for everyone. But at least you could try to make some money online. If you lack some skill, you could always take some course and learn it. If you don’t want to do something or want to learn something you could always hire someone to do it for you.

Excuse 2. Don’t have money to start an on-line business.

Who says you have to have a lot of money to start an on-line business?

These days you could start a website for around 50 dollars per year. (That is 14 cent per day!) Start by setting up a website with adSense. Write your own eBooks and try to sell them. If you can’t write, sell affiliate products. So you can see, money should not be an excuse.

Excuse 3. I already have a full time job, don’t have the time.

Yes, time can be very limited. But who says that you have to do everything at once. Start with an hour or two per week. You will be surprised what you can do in two hours.

After you get a second stream of income of your online business, you could reduce your hours of your normal job. (Say by one day). This extra day you could use to spend on your online company.

If you really want something badly, you can always find the time to make it happen.

Excuse 4. I don’t have a product or service to sell.

While I believe your ultimate goal should be to sell something, you don’t need anything to sell right away. First focus on building the website and getting traffic. (Maybe you could put adSense / Kontera on it to get some PPC income).

If you don’t have products or service to sell you could always join an affiliate program. (They give you products that you can sell for commission. See clickbank.com for this.)

Excuse 5. I don’t see myself as an expert at anything.

You don’t have to be an expert at anything to begin with. As long as you have the desire to learn. If you stick with it you can be an expert at anything in less then a year.

If you still can’t learn something, hire (freelancer) someone who knows the subject and who can do the work for you.

Excuse 6. There’s too much competition so it’s not worth trying

If you come up with an idea and people are already doing it, think of ways how you can do it better or cheaper. (Don’t try to compete with big companies, unless your idea is brilliant). Try to deliver benefits that are not offered by the competition. Be creative!

Excuse 7.Those who tell others how to make money are only people making money on the Internet.

In some extend this statement is true, but don’t let this withhold you from trying. All those people started small! There are still a lot of niches to find where you can earn money online.

Word of caution, don’t believe eBooks that say (for instance)- With this system I have made 30.000 dollars in one day. In most cases this is not true, you can’t get rich overnight.

Excuse 8. The only way I can succeed is if I secure top search engine rankings.

In some extend this statement is true, but it’s not the only way to get traffic. (Link building, forums, digg, yahoo answer, article writing, PPC traffic etc)

With only 200 visitors a day it is possible to make a five figure monthly income. It all depends on the product and targeted traffic.

Excuse 9. I’ve tried and always fail.

Failure teaches you valuable lessons, which in turn helps you to improve yourself. Most people fail because they don’t focus or are focussing on the wrong idea. There are even people that expect to get rich quick.

Like everything in life, nothing comes for free. You need to work hard to achieve your goals.

Excuse 10. I need to spend a lot on advertising to get a result.

Yes, you could spend money advertising, but as long your conversion rate is high it doesn’t matter. (For instance: for every dollar you spend you could make 2 dollars in profit.)

Also try to get free traffic from other places. Like I said before, use forums, digg, yahoo answer, article writing, etc for link building and the traffic will come.

If you are not making money online and you find yourself making any of the excuses above. Stop today and believe in yourself and start taking control of your future.
Start taking action now!
